Booking an appointment

Appointments should preferably be booked through Rehab Guru.

You may access the booking system through:

  • A Book Appointment link on atlanticmassage.co.uk
  • A QR code
  • A booking link supplied by email
  • A booking link supplied through social media
  • A link provided in person

If you have difficulty making a booking, I may assist with the booking on your behalf.

Rehab Guru is a third-party booking platform. Your appointment itself is for a service supplied by Atlantic Massage & Health.

05

Appointment confirmation

A booking is subject to availability and is not considered confirmed until the booking process has been completed and confirmation has been issued.

Rehab Guru may send booking confirmations, appointment information, reminders and consultation documents.

06

Prices and payment

A 50% deposit is required when booking.

  • £20 deposit for a £40 appointment
  • £30 deposit for a £60 appointment

The deposit forms part of the total treatment cost. The remaining balance is payable by card on the day of treatment.

Atlantic Massage & Health is not currently VAT registered.

07

Changes to prices

Prices may change in the future. Where practical, notice of a general price increase will be provided in advance.

A price change will not normally alter the price of an appointment that has already been confirmed unless clearly agreed with you.

08

Consultation and medical information

Before treatment, you are required to complete the relevant consultation and health information.

You must disclose information that may affect treatment, including:

  • Medical conditions
  • Injuries
  • Medication
  • Pregnancy
  • Recent surgery
  • Allergies
  • Healthcare treatment
  • Changes to previously supplied information

You are responsible for making sure the information you provide is accurate and up to date.

09

Treatment suitability

I reserve the right to modify, postpone or refuse treatment where I reasonably believe treatment would be unsafe, inappropriate, outside my professional scope or require medical clearance first.

I may ask you to obtain approval or guidance from your GP or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional before treatment.

10

Massage is not medical diagnosis

Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, emergency treatment, advice from a doctor or treatment from another appropriately qualified healthcare professional.

I do not diagnose medical conditions.

11

Treatment outcomes

Every person responds differently to massage.

I do not guarantee that treatment will:

  • Cure an injury
  • Eliminate pain
  • Cure a medical condition
  • Produce a particular sporting outcome
  • Resolve a problem within a specific number of sessions

Temporary muscle soreness, tenderness, tiredness or discomfort may occur after treatment.

12

Consent

Treatment consent is obtained as part of the consultation and booking process.

You may at any point:

  • Ask questions
  • Refuse treatment to a particular area
  • Ask for the treatment approach to be adjusted
  • Withdraw your consent
  • Ask for treatment to stop
13

Clothing and professional boundaries

Appropriate clothing must be worn during treatment. The minimum acceptable clothing is underwear.

Female clients may also keep a bra on. Where treatment requires access to an area of the back, the bra may need to be moved or removed with the client's knowledge and consent.

A client who is fully unclothed will be asked to redress before treatment continues.

14

Clients aged under 18

The minimum treatment age is 16.

Clients aged 16 or 17 must have a parent, guardian or responsible adult present in the treatment room throughout the appointment.

15

Pregnancy massage

Where pregnancy massage is offered, treatment will only be provided from 14 weeks of pregnancy onwards.

Treatment remains subject to individual suitability and medical clearance may be requested where appropriate.

16

Late arrival

If you arrive late, the appointment will still finish at its originally scheduled finishing time.

The appointment will not be extended where this would delay the next client and the full appointment price remains payable.

If you arrive so late that there is insufficient time to provide safe or meaningful treatment, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation or non-attendance.

17

Cancellation and rescheduling

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

A booking may normally be rescheduled once without losing the deposit where more than 24 hours' notice is given.

Full details are contained in the separate Cancellation & Refund Policy.

18

If I need to cancel

If I have to cancel your appointment, you will be offered either:

  • A full refund of the amount you have paid
  • A rescheduled appointment with the amount paid transferred to the new booking
19

Conduct

Atlantic Massage & Health provides professional therapeutic massage services.

I may immediately stop an appointment because of:

  • Sexual comments or behaviour
  • Harassment
  • Inappropriate conduct
  • Aggression
  • Threatening behaviour
  • Intoxication
  • Conduct that makes me or another person feel unsafe

Future bookings may also be refused.

20

Refusing future bookings

I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue a professional relationship where reasonably necessary, including because of repeated non-attendance, repeated late cancellations, abusive behaviour, professional-boundary concerns, safety concerns or treatment being outside my professional scope.

21

FHT professional standards

I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists and aim to provide services in accordance with the professional standards applicable to my practice.

22

Website information

Information on atlanticmassage.co.uk is provided for general information about Atlantic Massage & Health, available services, massage therapy and booking arrangements.

General health, massage or recovery information is not individual medical advice.

23

Website accuracy

Reasonable efforts are made to keep website information accurate and current.

Services, availability and information may change and pages may be updated without notice.

24

Third-party services and links

The website may contain links to external services including Rehab Guru, Stripe-related payment services, Instagram and Facebook.

These services are operated by third parties and their own terms and privacy policies may apply.

25

Website content and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, Atlantic Massage & Health owns or is authorised to use its logo, branding, written content, graphics, original imagery and website design content.

You may not reproduce, sell, commercially exploit, redistribute or represent Atlantic Massage & Health content as your own without permission.

26

Events outside my reasonable control

I will not be responsible for delay or inability to provide a service caused by circumstances outside my reasonable control.

If an appointment cannot ultimately be provided, your cancellation and refund rights will still apply.

27

Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.

Subject to your statutory rights, I am not responsible for loss resulting from relevant medical information you failed to disclose, failure to follow reasonable aftercare or medical advice, outcomes that could not reasonably have been predicted or avoided, or circumstances outside my reasonable control.

28

Consumer rights

These Terms do not remove or reduce rights given to you by UK consumer law.

Terms concerning deposits, cancellation charges and refunds will only apply to the extent that they are lawful, fair and proportionate.

29

Online bookings and statutory cancellation rights

Bookings made online or otherwise at a distance may carry additional statutory cancellation rights depending on the circumstances and applicable legal exemptions.

Where statutory cancellation rights apply, those rights take priority over the ordinary commercial cancellation policy.

30

Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
